Review of 02-07 WRX/STi Aluminum Racing Radiator
So I'm driving home from dinner around 8 o'clock at night when I stop at a red light and steam starts flowing out from under my hood and out of my hood scoop. It looked like Cheech and Chong were smoking out in my engine bay. I didn't know what was going on but luckily I was only 2 blocks from my house so I carefully cruised home with a cloud of smoke trailing behind me like I was running a steam engine. I pop the hood and there was coolant on everything so it looked like my stock radiator core sprung a leak after 93k on my 2004 Subaru WRX STi. I found a good deal on a Mizu aluminum radiator and figured it would be a good time to upgrade instead of replacing it with stock since I'm currently Stage 2 so I figured I might as well upgrade since I plan on tracking the car. Right out of the box the polish finish was clean and the welds looked pretty solid. Fitment with the stock fan shroud was right on the money and the install was simple enough. I've had it on the car for a little over 2 months and it has been running nice and cool. I even got to test it on track and it never overheated after 40 laps on Big Willow. This car is my daily driver so my set up is for street/track and from my experience the Mizu aluminum radiator performs well for both uses. I've seen these Rads in everything from full race cars to daily drivers so they can satisfy anyone's cooling Needs.
